January 16th is Appreciate a Dragon Day, and here at Rollacrit, we couldn’t let the holiday pass without checking in with our favorite dice hoarding, chaos adjacent, occasionally responsible leader: Würfel.
We finally managed to corner him in the hallway outside the Department of Discounts which, as you may have heard, recently experienced a minor incident involving a mysterious traveler, ten straight days of deals, and our security orcs politely escorting said traveler back through whatever portal he crawled out of. (Würfel insists he was “just networking.”)
So, Würfel… what exactly do you do around here?
“I run all the things at Rollacrit! I coordinate Shipping Dragons, manage the trolls in Tircallor, approve new dice shipments, and make sure the Product Hoard stays shiny. Also I help customers. And I look adorable. It is a full time job.”
Fair enough. Any comment on the Department of Discounts situation that happened last month?
“The mysterious traveler was really mysterious... and he had really good deals. Who knows? We might even see this traveler again.”
We’re choosing not to unpack that. For fans who don’t know your full story… where did you come from?
“I traveled all over the realms collecting dice. Then some adventurers wandered into my hoard, and instead of fighting them, I invited them to Mount Rollacrit. We started a company together. They voted me leader because I’m very good at business and also extremely cute.”
What’s your favorite part of running Rollacrit?
“The people! And the dice. Mostly the dice. But also the people. But mostly the dice.”
How do you stay organized with so many realms, dragons, and trolls to manage?
“Color‑coded hoards. If it sparkles blue, it’s Shipping Dragons. If it sparkles green, it’s Troll Payroll. If it sparkles red, do not touch it. That is my snack pile.”
Do you have any advice for aspiring adventurers?
“Bring snacks. Bring friends. Bring more snacks. And never underestimate a goblin with a clipboard.”
What’s one thing fans might not know about you?
“I can smell new dice from three realms away. It is both a gift and a curse.”
How do you celebrate Appreciate a Dragon Day?
“By appreciating myself loudly and publicly. Preferably with cake.”
What’s your biggest workplace challenge?
“Convincing the trolls that ‘team‑building exercises’ do not involve actual buildings.”
If you could add one new department to Rollacrit HQ, what would it be?
“The Department of Shiny Things. No meetings. Just shinies.”
Any final words for Appreciate a Dragon Day?
“Please appreciate me. And my umlaut.”
Consider it done. We’re very grateful to Würfel for taking time out of his busy schedule to speak with us. Even though this entire interview was his idea.
Appreciate a Dragon Day reminds us why Würfel is at the heart of Rollacrit, not just as our dice‑hoarding mascot, but as the embodiment of everything we love about tabletop fandom: curiosity, chaos, community, and the joy of diving headfirst into adventure. Whether he’s coordinating Shipping Dragons, accidentally unleashing a week of mysterious discounts, or simply brightening someone’s day with his charm, Würfel represents the spirit that keeps Rollacrit running.
